Happy Birthday Logan!
This cake was made for my son's first birthday. It was a confetti cake made in a character pan with lots and lots of stars in buttercream icing. We had a dinosaur themed party complete with inflatable dinosaurs, jell-o dino eggs, and lava juice (fruit punch). This cake was just for him. We put the entire cake on the tray of his high chair and let him have it!This is what happened...
This is a 3-D chocolate cake I made for everyone else at the party. I had a few pictures to go by that I found on the internet, but I would up creating a mixture of all of them. I used two 3-inch deep round cakes and 2-3 batches of icing (I only thought the other cake took alot of stars.). The orange spikes and his eyes are made with royal icing. I was pretty proud of myself considering I had no experience with carving a cake. I felt like Duff on Charm City Cakes. As big as it was, we didn't have much left over. I'm glad everyone liked it.Wednesday, February 18, 2009
Happy Birthday Robert!
Happy Birthday Kristy!

This cake was made for my Aunt's birthday. I enjoyed leaning how to make daisies out of royal icing, so I made her a cake that used them. She loved the look, and her 3 year old son loved eating the flowers. I had fun making this one.
This was a second attempt at this cake and was made the morning of the party. The first one was baked the night before, but fell because I forgot to include water in the recipe.
Merry Christmas!

I made the green tree cake for Robert's family Christmas party at our house. The theme was sweets, so I figured it was appropriate. The kids loved picking the candy out of the icing.
The white cake was made for my family Christmas party at my mom's house. I enjoyed using the same pan for 2 very different looks. I'm not a huge fan of candy in icing, so I think if I made this cake again, I would pipe the decorations in buttercream.
